Chicago at this time mourns the death of a retired Chicago Police sergeant. He reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Sunday, the 26th of January, 2025.
Although we’re yet to identify the name of the deceased, we can confirm that the incident happened on Menard Avenue on the city’s northwest side.

Multiple reports confirm that police officers who responded to a 911 call from the deceased friend confirmed his death. According to reports, the news was shared by the 16th and 17th District Chicago Police Scanner account (The account is dedicated to monitoring local police activities, and has been doing so for a long time now).
