A Professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and nine others have been arrested in an alleged major bribery scandal involving the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Per multiple reports, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted raids in 20 locations all over India uncovering laptops, gold, cash, and other expensive items.
Per reports from authorities, the suspects received bribes, granting A++ accreditation to an educational institution.
Reports have it that NAAC officials, University deans, and other important personalities were arrested alongside the Professor.
Authorities reported that they have seized around ₹37 lakh in cash including other electronic devices, to mention a few; 6 Lenovo laptops, 1 iPhone 16, etc.
At the time of writing this article, investigations are still ongoing.
