The family of Kaiden Walsh, a Nebraska teen, announced his death on social media detailing what happened. At this moment, they mourn the loss of their dear child.
Kaiden’s parents, Erika and Kevin Walsh, shared the heartbreaking news. “Kaiden was not just our son—he was the best brother, a loyal friend, and a bright light in our lives,” they said. He leaves behind two siblings, Lukas and Kallie.

My son was in a tragic car accident this past weekend that will forever change his and so many lives. For those reaching out thank you so much. I am overwhelmed with the love, prayers, and community support. I owe God for my son’s life. I will forever be in debt for that gift. But my heart is shattered for the loss of our sweet Kaiden. I don’t have the words to really express how much we loved you sweet boy. Kaiden was like our son and his family is our family. For Evan growing up in the military life you move all the time and you meet friends but you always have to leave and stay in touch. Evan and Kaiden have been friends since they were babies. They were blessed to grow up with each other, move with each other, and have that life long friendship. They shared so many first memories together, family holidays, vacations, funny shenanigans that only they know about. The friends they made are inseparable and have a friendship and bond that I can’t even describe but is beautiful. They have shown up for the Walsh family and each other. They have had to grow up in a matter of hours. I can’t believe any of this is happening but I need to believe that God has a greater purpose. Kaiden touched so many lives in this community and it’s evident by the mass of people praying and reaching out to them.
We will get through this together Erika Walsh and Kevin Walsh. We will be there everyday. Evan promised Kaiden he would be there for Kallie and Lukas. We all will. We love you forever. Per reports, the crash happened when a vehicle carrying several teenagers lost control and rolled over, leaving multiple passengers injured.
